Starting in 2007/2008 upcycling surfboards to the Philippines for kids to learn to surf after school. Volunteer based group, founded by 2 Filipina Americans Lynn Bryant and Victoria Fabella with the support of other surf groups The Wahine Project and Kelly's Cove Reunion. Focus activities are fundraising for shipping surfboards, youth surfer competition travel in Philippines and volunteer labor packing and shipping surfboards from California. We have 3 surfboard collection centers in California: Norcal is The Boxshop in San Francisco (a community arts workspace), Central CA is The Wahine Project in Monterey area and Socal is Filipino owned Happy Battle Surf Shop in San Diego. The youth participating in our programs have grown up to start organizations of their own, become advocates for the ocean as well as first responders for emergency situations.
