Hi, I am Shelby Detmers. I live in Newport Beach, CA and have pretty much lived here most of my life. I started surfing when I was around 11/12 and started competing in nationwide contest only a few years after that. I started competing internationally after I won NSSA West Coast Championships in 2011 with the World Surf League surfing in the Qualifying Series (QS/Star Series). I also have dual citizenship to Mexico so I surf for the Mexican National Surf team where I just recently won the Mexican National Women's Shortboard title. Additionally I got copper Medal for team Mexico in the 2019 Pan American Games where it will be the first time surfing will be included in the PanAm Games and the Olympics. Which is what I have my sights on for 2021 and for the next Olympics/Olympic process for 2023/2024
